The Forum can be used for members to discuss anything. Anyone can pick a
topic (if you have enabled auto-approve) and post a message on the topic. Then,
other members can reply to the posting online. Topics can be set to expire
after a specified time online, or can be kept permanently. You can choose
whether anyone can start a topic or just a forum administrator.
Some organizations find this a convenient was to carry on the business of
committees and boards without requiring face-to-face meetings. It also
allows the discussion of issues important to the membership and allows everyone
to participate.
